What to know before you book a car wash
Why a hand wash, not an automatic one
Rotating tunnel-wash brushes trap sand and dust from previous cars and grind them into the paint with every pass. The result is micro-scratching — visible on dark colours as cobwebbing and sun holograms. A hand wash removes that mechanism entirely: foam lifts the coarse dirt before anything touches the car, and a soft microfibre mitt with pH-neutral shampoo does the rest. That's why owners of new and premium cars insist on hand washing.
How your wash is done here
Every car goes through the same process: ① snow-foam pre-wash and pressure rinse, ② hand wash top to bottom — the mitt is rinsed constantly so grit never returns to the paint, ③ wheels separately with their own mitt and chemistry, ④ gentle drying with soft microfibre towels, ⑤ exterior glass. The Detail Safe programme adds insect and tar spot removal, exterior plastics and tyre dressing, and a final quality checklist.
Interior: Quick, Detail, or extraction?
Interior Quick (CZK 690, 45 minutes) is a fast tidy-up: vacuum, matte plastics, interior glass, fresh scent. Interior Detail (CZK 1,390, 2 hours) also cleans what you don't see — crevices with brushes, sills, local stains. Deep Shampoo (from CZK 2,890, 3–5 hours) is a deep extraction of seats and carpets: the upholstery is literally washed through. Pick by condition — we'll advise you over the phone in a minute.
KOMPLET: a clean car + certainty the body is fine
KOMPLET packages (CZK 2,390 / 2,890) combine the best exterior programme with a detailed interior — plus a bonus nobody else offers: a PDR technician's body inspection included. Freshly washed paint is exactly where small parking dents show up — dirt reliably masks them. We find them, show you, and recommend a fix. Whether to repair is your call.
How much a car wash costs in Prague
Our hand exterior wash costs CZK 650–1,290 depending on the programme, interior cleaning CZK 690–1,390, deep extraction from CZK 2,890 by condition. Combined KOMPLET packages are CZK 2,390 (wash + detailed interior) or CZK 2,890 (adds paint decontamination and a 1–2 month sealant). Prices are for a passenger car; SUV +10 %, XL and vans +20 %. Extreme dirt is priced by agreement — always up front, no surprises.
When to add wax, and when ceramic
Hard wax (CZK 1,190, 45 minutes after a wash) gives gloss and a few weeks of protection — the ideal maintenance step between seasons. What is extraction cleaning and when do I need it?＋
Extraction is a deep wet clean of seats and carpets: cleaning solution is worked into the upholstery and vacuumed out together with the dirt. It makes sense for stains, odours, after kids or pets (pet-hair removal +CZK 490) and before selling a car. From CZK 2,890 by condition, takes 3–5 hours.
Will you wash a very dirty car?＋
Yes — which is exactly why we look at the car first. Normal dirt is covered by the price list; for extreme cases (mud, long-unwashed cars, construction dust) we agree a fair surcharge up front. You know the price before we start.
Can you pick up and return the car?＋
Yes, within Prague 9 for CZK 250 (pick-up + return). Handover is signed off on a protocol, and we deliver the car back washed. Time and place by phone or WhatsApp.
Do you clean engines?＋
Yes, after an individual assessment — on older cars and sensitive electronics we don't always recommend it. Send a photo of the engine bay via WhatsApp and we'll tell you the approach and price.
